Fidel Castro's Response To Obama's Trip To Cuba

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Fidel Castro had a few words on President Barack Obama's historic visit to the island nation last week.
The former leader of Cuba released a 1,500 word letter on state run media Granma following the president's visit.
In the letter published on Sunday, Castro stated, "we do not need the empire to give us any presents."
Castro recounted the history of what he says was U.S. aggression against Cuba and talks about Cuba's history starting with Spanish colonialism.
Castro went on to suggest that President Obama should reflect on Cuba's history and not try to develop theories about Cuba's politics.

He referred back to President Obama's address to the Cuban people where he was asking them to look to the future and not the past. It's something Castro said he supposed the Cuban people would run the risk of a heart attack at hearing those words since the Cuban embargo is still in effect.
The letter was Castro's first response following President Obama's visit from March 20 to March 22nd. During his visit, President Obama met with Fidel's brother, Raul Castro,who took over for him back in 2008.
