DEERFIELD BEACH (CBSMiami) -- Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) has found the car driven by a man they say was involved in a road rage incident in Deerfield Beach this week.

The 2000 grey Mercury Marquis was found in Fort Lauderdale on Wednesday morning and towed to FHP headquarters for processing.

While the car was found, troopers are still looking for the man they believe was driving the car.

Troopers said 42-year old Peter Whyte from Fort Lauderdale stabbed 22-year old Nolan Goad on Monday during an altercation on the side of I-95.

"He should turn himself in" said FHP spokesman Sgt. Mark Wysocky.

On Tuesday, the victim Nolan Goad was hesitant to talk about the altercation that led to the stabbing.

When asked if he wanted to talk about it, he said, "I would rather not...after they catch him by all means."

Goad hopes FHP finds his attacker and fast, fearing retaliation

Troopers describe Whyte as a black male between 40 and 50-years old, thin build with long dreads and a beard. He was wearing a yellow shirt with tan pants at the time of the incident.

Anyone with information is urged to call Broward County Crimestoppers at (954) 493-TIPS.
