Feds: Canadian Prison Inmate Helped Smuggle Drugs To Florida

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (CBSMiami/AP) — A Broward County man accused of smuggling synthetic heroin to people in South Florida pleaded not guilty to federal drugs smuggling and dealing charges.
Authorities said he would do this with the help from a prison inmate in Canada.
News outlets in South Florida report that 34-year-old Aldolphe Joseph of Miramar entered his plea Tuesday in federal court. Joseph was indicted last week on 11 federal charges after prosecutors said he was part of an international ring that took online orders and shipped the drug fentanyl to addresses in Broward County.
Federal agents say they began the investigation about a year ago when they intercepted a package containing pills shipped to Joseph from Canadian prison inmate Daniel Ceron. Police searched Ceron's cell and say they found a cellphone and a drug ledger than included Joseph's address.
