Hundreds Protest Ferguson Decision Outside Miami Courthouse

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Hundreds of people took to the streets Tuesday in protest of a grand jury's decision not to indict an officer for shooting and killing 18-year old Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri.
As protesters around the country came out following the Ferguson decision, the same happened in South Florida.
Protesters started at the Metro Justice Building Tuesday evening then marched the streets of downtown Miami.

Protesters chanted "Hands up. Don't shoot,"while others also held signs saying, "Black Lives Matter,"" Liberty & Justice 4 All SOS USA, and "Our lives matter" among other signs.
The protest was not only for the Ferguson decision but for also what they believe to be a consistent and blatant disregard by police for black and brown lives.
"I came because I am really concerned the police are hurting us instead of protecting us and I see it happening all over the country in Florida," said Protester Kathy Bird.
"I'm out her because I'm a black man and I deserve to be treated like a man. This is America. Slavery has ended and racists got to die," said protester Stephen Roberts.
Miami-Dade Police said, as off 8:00 p.m., two people had been arrested and charged with Failure to Obey Lawful Order.
Earlier on Tuesday, court employees, attorneys and others were cleared from the Metro Justice Building ahead of the protest.

While officials were expecting the protest to be peaceful, they ordered everyone out of the building out of an abundance of caution.
