Doral Motorcycle Officer Airlifted To Jackson Memorial Hospital After Crash

DORAL (CBSMiami) -- A motorcycle officer for the Doral Police Department is in the hospital after getting into a crash Friday afternoon.
Chopper 4 flew over the scene at NW 112th Avenue and 90th Street in Doral shortly after the crash.
Officer Mauricio Olivera was airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital to be treated for injuries but the extent of those injuries is not known.
Friday evening, dozens of police officers were at JMH to show support for officer Olivera.
Olivera is a ten year veteran of the department.
Doral police say the officer was on duty during the single-vehicle crash.
The cause is not known -- but is being investigated by Miami-Dade police.
