DAVIE (CBSMiami) – One of the biggest areas of concern for the Miami Dolphins in 2015 was the offensive line.
Injuries to right tackle Ja'Wuan James and center Mike Pouncey crippled the unit towards the end of the season, as did sub-par play from the tackle rotation of Dallas Thomas, Billy Turner and rookie Jamil Douglas.
One of the backup offensive lineman who played a good amount during the season has been released by the Dolphins.
Jason Fox, who signed with Miami as a free agent in April of 2014, was waived by the team on Tuesday.
This is the first player transaction since the Dolphins hired new head coach Adam Gase.
Fox played in 24 games for Miami during the past two seasons, starting 13.
This season Fox played two games at left tackle and nine games at right tackle.
The Dolphins will save approximately $1.2 million by cutting Fox, who was under contract for the 2016 season.
