Dolphins Take Knowshon Moreno Off PUP List
DAVIE (CBSMiami) – The Miami Dolphins received a boost on Wednesday morning as running back Knowshon Moreno was taken off the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list and placed on the teams active roster.
Moreno was in full pads along with the rest of the team for Wednesday's practice. It was the first time he participated in an on-field workout during the Dolphins training camp which began on July 24.
Signed as a free agent following a successful year with the Denver Broncos, Moreno had been recovering after having arthroscopic surgery on his left knee in late June.
The Dolphins now have their full complement of running backs available for the first time. Lamar Miller has been taking the first team reps and looks good in new coordinator Bill Lazor's offense.

Now with the one-two punch that new general manager Dennis Hickey envisioned in the Dolphins backfield, Miami has over a month to get Moreno acclimated to the new offense and see how well he fits in Lazor's scheme.
At this point it's unknown if Moreno will play in the Dolphins preseason opener in Atlanta on Friday night.
Expectations are that Moreno will fit in nicely with Miami's new offense and make up for the Dolphins lack of having a true three-down back who can be on the field in running and passing situations without issue. Along with carrying the ball he has shown to be a solid receiver out of the backfield and is an above-average blocker in pass protection.
Moreno is fresh off of a season in which he rushed for 1,038 yards and ten touchdowns along with 60 receptions for 548 yards and three touchdowns, all career highs.
