Dolphins Sign Marcus Thigpen To Practice Squad
DAVIE (CBSMiami) – The Miami Dolphins are bringing back one of the more dynamic players they've had in recent years.
Former kick and punt return specialist Marcus Thigpen has been signed to the Dolphins practice squad. He spent the last two seasons as Miami's primary kick returner.
Thigpen was one of the final cuts by the Dolphins this preseason. He spent a week on the New England Patriots practice squad before being cut last week.
A player who can fit multiple roles on the team, Thigpen lined up as a running back, wide receiver and return man during his two years in Miami.
Rookie Jarvis Landry has been handing the return duties since Thigpen was cut. Landry has looked good returning kickoffs but has struggled returning punts.
The Dolphins (1-2) will head to London, England later this week to face the Oakland Raiders (0-3) at Wembley Stadium.
Watch Miami take on the Oakland Raiders this Sunday at 1 p.m. on CBS4, your official Dolphins station!
