Subtropical System Expected To Form Near The Bahamas By This Weekend, Could Become Arthur
MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Although Hurricane Season does not officially begin until June 1st, the CBS4 Weather team is monitoring weather conditions that are expected to become the season's first tropical-like system just east of Florida.
A broad area of low pressure is expected to develop near the northwest Bahamas by this weekend and environmental conditions appear favorable for this system to become Subtropical Depression One or Subtropical Storm Arthur this weekend.
While this developing system will move northeast and away from Florida, we could still see some gusty downpours by Friday and some areas of street flooding.
The weekend is looking warmer, less windy, but with a chance for storms.
