Deerfield Beach Gas Leak Capped

FT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) - A gas leak which prompted evacuations in one Deerfield Beach neighborhood Sunday night has been capped.
The Cove Shopping Center and several nearby apartments were evacuated after gas started spewing from an underground gas tank in the 300 block of SE 15th Avenue.
Hazmat personnel from the Broward Sheriff's Office were able to cap the leak and area residents were allowed to return to their homes.
The sheriff's office said the underground tank will likely have to be dug up and replaced.
