Deadly hit and run crash involving a scooter in NW Dade
MIAMI - Police are searching for two people who crashed into a man on a scooter and took off early Tuesday morning.
According to Miami-Dade police, around 6 a.m. a car heading north on NW 22nd Avenue struck a person on a scooter near NW 54th Street.
When officers arrived, they found a smashed-up BMW, airbags deployed and a scooter wedged into the front of it. The impact from the crash was so forceful, that pieces of the scooter and car were all over the road. The scooter driver's body lay in the street.
According to investigators, grainy footage shows two people take off running from the area.
Police have not released the name of the man who died. So far there is no description of the two people from the car.
