Woman killed, two others critically injured in I-95 crash in Miami-Dade

MIAMI -- One person died and two others were injured in a crash that temporarily shut down a section of northbound I-95 in Miami-Dade early Friday morning. 

The driver of a Dodge SUV lost control around 2:20 a.m. and crashed into a concrete barrier near NW 119 Street, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The Dodge came to a stop in the roadway, it's occupants then got out to wait for help.

That's when a black Honda sedan the Dodge, according to the FHP. A woman was killed and two others were hurt. They were taken to the Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition.

The family of those taken to the hospital said the woman who died was a good Samaritan who had run over to help after the crash

The northbound lanes of I-95 between NW 103 Street and NW 95 Street were closed around 2:30 a.m.,  as were the northbound I-95 express lanes between the Downtown Miami entrance and NW 119 Street. The lanes were re-opened around 6:30 a.m.

The southbound lanes were not impacted.
