TALLAHASSEE (CBSMiami/AP) - Time is running out for Florida legislators to pass a new budget to avoid a partial government shutdown.

Budget negotiators worked over the weekend to reach a final deal. But they aren't finished yet.

The Florida Senate is expected on Monday to pass a bill that contains a $400 million tax cut package. Tax cuts are one area where the House and Senate had been at odds.

The Senate bill contains a 10-day back to school sales tax holiday and a proposed cut in taxes charged on cellphone and cable television.

Legislators returned to Tallahassee June 1 after failing to pass a budget during their regular session. The session is scheduled to end June 20.

State government will be partially shut down if a new budget isn't in place by July 1st.
