DAVIE (CBSMiami) - After hours of searching for a missing 3-year-old girl, Davie Police confirmed she was found safe and sound with a relative late Thursday night.
It was originally believed Miracle Hardin was with her father, 22-year-old Justin Caldwell. Hardin had not been seen since the weekend.
"Family services received a call concerning the welfare of the child. They've been attempting to make contact with the child since Sunday and have been unable to do so," said Dave police Captain Dale Engle.
Police said they were concerned for Miracle's safety and needed to locate her.
"The child is three years old and can't flee the father if something is happening. We do not believe that the father will cause the child any physical harm but we need to make contact with the father and the child to make sure everybody is okay," said Engle.
Neighbors said Caldwell had been living with his girlfriend in a townhome in Davie and he seemed like a normal guy.
"She was the renter next door and he has been there for a number of months," said Harriet Fiering. "I didn't know what was going on with them, with each other, I heard arguments but that was it."
Police said Caldwell was not considered dangerous, they just wanted to know where he was and that the child is safe.
CBS4 checked Caldwell's criminal background and found no history of violence.
He has been arrested for possession of oxycodone, unlawful use of a false name, lewdness violation and delivery of cocaine.
