Dade Commissioners Urge Congress To Revoke Citizenship Of ISIL Fighters
MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Miami-Dade Commissioners passed a resolution on Monday which urged the federal government to revoke the citizenship and passports of any United States citizen who fights for the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).
In the resolution, by Commissioner Jose Diaz, condolences were expressed to the families of U.S. journalists James Foley and South Florida native Steven Sotloff, who were brutally executed at the hands of terrorists.

Intelligence reports estimate more than 100 Americans have signed on to fight with ISIL.
The terrorist organization known for carrying out mass executions, crucifixions and rapes, controls hundreds of square miles in Syria and Iraq.
"Any American who fights for a brutal terrorist organization like ISIL which is killing American citizens should be treated as a traitor," Diaz said in a written statement. "I urge Congress to act quickly to pass legislation currently pending in the House and Senate to strip these terrorists of their citizenship and passports."
