FLORIDA CITY (CBSMiami) – Former President Bill Clinton was in South Florida Tuesday, rallying support for his wife, Hillary, just one week before Election Day.
"Hello Florida City," shouted Mr. Clinton as he took the stage shortly after noon. It's just the latest in a series of rallies in South Florida and across the state urging people to vote early.
"We also know if Hillary wins Florida, she'll be the next President of the United States," said Clinton to a cheering crowd.
He addressed big issues head on with the crowd, like the double digit increase of Obamacare.
"You fix it by increasing availability to subsidies and bringing in more competition and if there is no competition to come in give them a public option and let everybody 55 and older buy into Medicare," he explained.
He also addressed the latest email problem and fears that secret information could have been compromised on Hillary Clinton's personal server.
"Don't you think it's interesting that Hillary's opponent spends all his time talking about this and yet most of the people who have been heavily involved in protecting the security of this country for the last 20 years, in both parties have endorsed her," said Mr. Clinton.
Many supporters are tired of the whole email mess.
"There's so many issues we have concentrate on. To go over their emails, get over it. The FBI said she was fine, come on. Move on," said Clinton supporter Maria Villacampa.
The former President spoke about the different visions of each campaign, saying Donald Trump's vision is dark and drags America backwards.
"We believe America's best days are ahead, together," he said to the crowd cheering in agreement. "Without record to religion, without regard to race, without regard to gender, without regard to sexual orientation, without regard to disability. Hillary, Hillary.Hillary," he chanted.
Bill Clinton is following up his speech in Florida City with appearances in Immokalee and St. Petersburg on Tuesday, while Hillary visits Sanford, Dade City and Fort Lauderdale.
