MIAMI (CBSMiami) - As Tropical Storm Colin continues to move to the northeast, Florida's upper west coast is preparing for heavy rain and gusty winds.

Colin is forecast to make landfall Monday evening in the Big Bend area, the worst of the storms and potential flooding will be felt from Tampa north.

For South Florida the weather pattern is a bit more complicated, according to CBS4 chief meteorologist Craig Setzer.

Winds and storm chances will increase somewhat Monday with the highest rain chance over the lower Keys and Naples areas.

A few storms are expected Monday afternoon in Miami-Dade and Broward. CBS4 meteorologist Nicole Mitchell said we could see our winds gusting to 30 mph as the rain moves in.

It will stay breezy and warm Monday and Tuesday, with periods of heavy rain and thunderstorms. With deep tropical moisture in place, downpours at times will cause localized areas of flooding. Highs will stay in the upper 80s.

There is a good chance for showers & thunderstorms throughout the week as the moisture lingers across South Florida through Friday.
