Cold Front Blankets South Florida Overnight

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- A cold front cleared all of south Florida overnight.
The coolest temperatures were felt across interior Broward with cities like Weston, Parkland & Coral Springs dipping into the upper 50's. Metro areas closer to the coast, including both Fort Lauderdale and Miami, got down into the lower 60's. A normal low for this time of year is 62°.
High pressure delivers a double-sided twist. For most of our Saturday, the wind flow around the HIGH will bring in a North-Northwest wind (Dry Air).
As this area of high pressure slides east, those winds "veer" – meaning coming in over the relatively warm ocean water, so the cool-down will be a quick one.
Also, the wind becomes a coastal concern.
There is a High Rip Current Risk through the weekend. No swimming.
A Small Craft Advisory with rough bays and seas run from 6 to 12 feet.
Into the holiday week, temperatures gradually warm each day with overnight lows back in the middle 70's on Christmas Eve and high's back in the low to middle 80's – with a chance for rain.
