FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – The murder trial of a Broward man accused of killing his wife is intensifying.

This is as prosecutors are building their case against Cid Torrez, claiming he killed his wife Vilet in a jealous rage back in 2012 in their Miramar townhome.

Crime scene investigator Michael Kelly says Cid Torrez's blood was found under a sink on a pipe and elsewhere indicating a struggle.

"When you find small blood stains on the wall, remember you're looking at a scene, something that's not normal, trying to find indication that the crime scene occurred in the residence," said Kelly.

Late Monday, Cid Torrez listened attentively as an audio tape of his police interrogation was played. You could hear the anguish in his voice as he denies knowing anything about his estranged wife Vilet's disappearance.

On the same day, a business associate testified Torrez told him he secretly installed spyware on Vilet's phone so he could track her moves.

"He said she's cheating on him, there's another guy," said Christian Roman, a business associate of Torrez.

Roman testified Torrez told him he secretly installed spyware on Vilet's phone.

"He showed me a computer screen and told me how he knows this was going on," Roman said.

Vilet had started seeing coworker Zoe Rodriguez.

According to Lanie Bandell, a spyware employee, the software would have allowed Torrez to listen in on their relationship.

Prosecutors claim Torrez murdered Vilet, on March 31, 2012,hid her body in his car and dumped it near the Everglades.

Prosecutors say when Vilet returned home in the early morning hours of March 31, 2012, Cid Torrez confronted her, killed her, and hid her body in his car and buried it near the Everglades and her boyfriend's home.

Vilet Torrez's body has never been found.
