SOUTHWEST MIAMI-DADE (CBSMiami) -- Police are looking for four men in a truck involved in a deadly drive-by shooting that killed a little boy.
The 7-year-old was watching TV in a house at 15120 Jackson Street when police said a truck drove by and gunmen opened fire on the house, using at least one hi-powered assault rifle.
The child was struck in the head and died instantly.
Investigators were seen putting out marker after marker next to gun shell casings all across Jackson Street.
While police said they have no motive, they do have an idea of who and what they're looking for.
"Please remember that they're armed with at least one hi powered assault type rifle. So do not approach them. What we need you to do is call police immediately," said Miami-Dade Police Deputy Dir. Juan Perez.
Police are looking for four men -- two black, two hispanic -- in a white newer-model Dodge Ram.
"These individuals that are arming themselves, they need to think twice because they just took the life of a 7-year-old and all bets are off when that happens," said Dep. Perez.
Miami Schools Superintendent Alberto Carvalho tweeted out his frustration upon hearing the news.
Murderous, cowardly violence, during the holiday season, claims the life of a seven-year old child in Miami-Dade. #Unacceptable!
