MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Thick, black smoke billowed over Miami International Airport Friday morning in what looked like a dark cloud hovering in the sky over the tarmac.
Fire wasn't coming from planes, but from the parking garage.
"Two cars, they're on fire," said Claudio Decaro, who encountered trouble getting his rental car out after returning from a flight from Buenos Aires. "I go to take my car and they don't allow enter."
The flamingo parking garage near Terminal F on the international side was closed off as firefighters worked to put out the flames.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said an electrical short in a vehicle started a blaze that engulfed two others. In total, 12 vehicles were damaged.
The garage was shut down for hours. Airport officials said the fire didn't delay any flights but almost certainly delayed travelers.
Fortunately, no one was hurt.
