DEERFIELD BEACH (CBSMiami) – On a cool December evening in Deerfield Beach, a man brought the heat at a Wendy's restaurant before making away with the money, deputies said.
Dressed in dark clothes, wearing gloves and sunglasses – a man with a gun casually walks into the restaurant on Hillsboro Blvd near I-95.
He breezed right past a customer and made his way to the counter.
"He went to the register as if he was going to order something and then proceeded to rob the place," said BSO spokeswoman Gina Carter. "He told the cashier he didn't want to shoot him, but once that cashier hesitated to give him the money, he had no problem pulling out a gun."

Surveillance video shows where he pulled out the gun and showed the cashier.
"He pulled out his gun, pointed it at the cashier and pulled the trigger," said Carter. "The weapon did not discharge, but this was enough to show the cashier what his intent was."
After hearing the trigger click the cashier opened the drawer.
At first, the gunman reaches over to grab the cash, eventually, the employee lifts the drawer over the counter, where the gunmen snatches more money then leaves.
The question now—did the robber intend to shoot the victim and the gun jammed or was it a terrifying tactic to scare the clerk.
"There's no way for us to know if he meant to fire his weapon or just scare the cashier," said Carter."Most likely he went in with his weapon to show that he was serious, that he would hurt someone if he had to to get the money."
This happened on December 9th, but the video was released on Tuesday.
The robber got away in a white car, witnesses couldn't tell what kind.
