COOPER CITY (CBSMiami) -- A man is facing criminal charges for his Casanova tactics that broke hearts and his alleged victims' bank accounts.

Broward Sheriff's deputies arrested Trevor Thornton, 33, on November 19th on a grand theft charge. His bond is set at $2,500.

That's not the only thing he's facing.  Thornton has left a trail of angry and vocal victims in his nationwide wake.

Charlaine Louis, of Broward County, is one of his alleged victims. She told detectives she had been dating Thornton, who at the time identified himself as Trevor Tiller, for about two weeks when allegedly swiped a safe with $14,000 cash inside her bedroom closet.

Louis and Thornton met on the dating website. The two went away together to Puerto Rico, but when they got back, Louis' cousin warned her that she had seen Thornton's mug shot online. The relative warned he might be a con artist. That's when Louis discovered he had stolen the safe.

"He looked nice said he was into investing and real estate," said Louis.

Louis said she is on a mission to spread the word about Thornton.

"If it takes my story to get him off the streets that's what I'm gonna do," said Louis.

His victims also  include women in Georgia, South Carolina, Virginia and California.

Authorities said an internet search shows alleged victims warning others of his alleged scams. They described him as a serial con artist with multiple wives, fiancés, girlfriends, children and a fortune owed in child support.

One even made a YouTube video saying he pretends to be a wealthy man, a pilot or special agent and sometimes wears a badge on his hip.

Not only does he have a trail of alleged victims, but also a criminal history.

Thornton served time in Florida state prison from 2003 to 2006 for similar crimes committed in Hillsboro County. He has 8 different mug shots for arrests ranging from grand theft to burglary.

He sometimes goes by the first name Tre or Trey and has used the last names Thompson, Thomas, Tolbert and Touchstone.

Deputies believe there may be other possible victims out there. Anyone who thinks they may have been a victim of Thornton can call a BSO detective at (954) 435-2200.
