BSO: Tamarac man, woman dead in apparent murder-suicide
MIAMI - The Broward Sheriff's Office is investigating an apparent murder-suicide that left a man and woman dead early Thursday morning.
Broward Sheriff's Office deputies said they responded to the 5800 block of Hampton Hills Boulevard in Tamarac regarding a 911 hang-up call.
Mia Beaudoin explained how gunfire in the townhome a couple of doors down jolted her out of bed. "I woke up about 2:45 this morning, and heard 3 loud bangs," she said.
Inside, a man and woman dead in what BSO called an apparent murder-suicide.
Four kids were inside when it happened. "We heard deputies saying 'it's safe, it's safe. Come here, come here.' And that was when the 4 young children that came running out of the house," she said.
Mia says the kids are all boys, ranging from infant to 10 or 11. "Seeing them run out, seeing the oldest one holding the baby just, everything that must be going thru their heads, it's heartbreaking."
Neighbor Diego DeLaCerda can't believe that his neighbor was rocked twice by violence in 2 days. " here is a very quiet so, very safe," he said.
Just around the corner, about 1,600 feet away, is where another woman was murdered.
"It's weird for me because I've been here for 5 years, we never saw any problem. Just once someone open a car and stole something but nothing like that," DeLaCerda said.
Mia tells us the two violent incidents have shaken her.
"It's unusual for Tamarac. This is a safe place, it just puts that feeling in you. You're questioning your safety," she worried.
BSO has not released the names of the people involved in the apparent murder-suicide or a possible motive.
"You don't want to think about it… that it's happening next door," said neighbor Kaleem. "It's something you've never imagined."
