MIAMI (CBSMiami) – For the second year in a row, someone feeling extra generous this holiday season, dropped two rare gold coins into a Salvation Army red kettle in Pompano Beach over the weekend.

The gold coins were each wrapped in a dollar bill and deposited into the Salvation Army's red kettle at the Walmart Neighborhood Market on South Federal Highway.

The donations were discovered on Monday, December 7th and again on Tuesday, December 8th.

The Salvation Army received three of the exact same coins during last year's Red Kettle Campaign.  They are 1947 Mexican pesos worth about $1,400 each.

The Salvation Army is now calling their generous donor the "Coin Crusader".

"This mystery donor has certainly lifted our holiday spirits once again.  These unique gifts help us highlight the incredible support needed for the programs that take place during the holidays and all year-round," said Major Keath Biggers, Area Commander for The Salvation Army of Broward County.
