PHILADELPHIA (CBSMiami) – The Miami Dolphins will be without one of the best defensive players when they face the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.
Starting cornerback Brent Grimes will not play against the Eagles due to an illness.
He was not listed on the week's injury report which indicates that he was expected to play but was listed on the Dolphins inactive list after becoming ill on Saturday night due to food poisoning.
Grimes still went to Lincoln Financial Field with the expectation of playing in the game but as he started his pregame workout he became more ill and was ruled out.
This is the second time this season that Grimes has suffered from food poisoning prior to a game.
Starting in Grimes' place will be Brice McCain, joined by rookie Bobby McCain at the two cornerback spots.
Along with Grimes, the rest of Miami's inactive players are Ja'Wuan James, Matt Hazel, Sam Brenner, Ulrick John, Spencer Paysinger and Brandon Williams.
