MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A Miami-Dade smoke shop was burglarized by a brazen suspect early Tuesday morning.
The smoke shop is back open for business but one of its windows is boarded up after it was smashed during the burglary.
Surveillance footage shows a man with something in his hand before smashing the window of The U Smoke Shop located at 1307 SW 107th Avenue at approximately 2 a.m.
Even with the alarm going off, the suspect went through the electronic cigarette store, grabbing whatever items he could.
"It was male about six feet tall," said Mark Odynak, store manager. "He ran into the store, he was wearing a ski mask."
Odynak was notified by the alarm company and made his way to the store.
"I was surprised and overwhelmed, not used to seeing something like this happen," said Odynak "It's really upsetting to see this happen to our business. Don't have any good feelings about it."
The suspect stole various e-cigarettes and supplies before fleeing the scene, dropping some merchandise on the ground during the getaway.
"He took about $3,000 worth of stuff," said Odynak. "Mainly vapors, tanks and e-liquids plus batteries for the vapes."
As Odynak cleaned up the mess, he told CBS4's Silva Harapetian that he's offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest. That's in addition to any Crime Stoppers reward that may be offered.
Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
