Boat Crashes Into Seven Mile Bridge Support, Six Hurt

MARATHON (CBSMiami/AP) - Six people were hospitalized after the boat they were in slammed into a Seven Mile Bridge piling.

The accident happened Sunday night at 7:45 p.m.

Three of the injured were airlifted to Miami due to the severity of their injuries. The other three were taken to Fishermen's Hospital in Marathon, according to Monroe County Sheriff's spokeswoman Becky Herrin.

The Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is investigating the accident.
