MIAMI (CBSMiami) – High hopes for Christmas in the Bahamas were shot down after passengers at Miami International Airport learned BahamasAir pilots walked off the job on Monday.
When customers learned the flights were not taking off tempers soared.
"For two days I have a relative in Nassau that have a connection two days ago and we are still waiting for them and I have no information," one man told CBS4 News.

Airport officials said BahamasAir pilots decided to strike because they want more money.
The work place dispute is putting a chill on travelers' plans for a tropical holiday.
"After a long flight from Switzerland, it was really, really tiring seeing the strike just before Christmas," said Noah Ospeit.
Some people have been stranded for three days now and have no guarantee they will make it to the Bahamas before Christmas morning. Despite the inconvenience some people support the pilots push for better pay.
"They fly us safe and that's the best flight in the world, in the Bahamas. They never crash, so give the pilots some money," said Bahamas resident Noel Pinder.
Miami Airport officials said BahamasAir is chartering planes to help get some travelers to their destination.
Three flights are scheduled to arrive from the Bahamas and take MIA passengers back on Christmas Eve, but there is no guarantee those flights will arrive.
MIA officials said they are having a hard time confirming what flights will make it to Miami to take people back to the Island.
