Backstreet Boy Carter Gets Community Service For Bar Brawl

KEY WEST (CBSMiami) -- Backstreet Boy Nick Carter is out of the courtroom after a bar brawl in Key West that landed him behind bars back in January.
The pop star will have to complete 25 hours of community service and be under court supervision for six months to avoid trial for a misdemeanor battery charge, according to our news partners at the Miami Herald.
Carter's trial was set for Monday in a Key West courtroom but the case was resolved with a pre-trial intervention deal last week.
Monroe's State Attorney agreed to drop the battery charge if Carter did community service and paid court costs of almost $300.
Carter's friend who was also arrested with him Michael Papayans, 27, is still awaiting trial on the same charge.
Key West Police said Carter and Papayans were "heavily intoxicated" when they got to the Hog's Breath Saloon around 7 p.m. on January 13th.

The bartender allegedly refused to serve them due to their condition and the pair were reportedly told to leave multiple times. Bar security eventually forced them out.
That's when police said Carter grabbed bartender Skylar Carden by the neck and punched him. Papayans allegedly head-butted the bar's manager Matthew Stecher.
Back in January, Carden sued Carter over the brawl. At last check, the lawsuit remained pending.
