OAKLAND PARK (CBSMiami) –Lauderhill police said a crazy pursuit and foot chase through several Broward cities ended in Lauderhill Monday evening and resulted in the arrests of two young men.

Police said a stolen, four-door blue sedan was spotted in Lighthouse Point.

After a brief pursuit on I-95 southbound in Broward County, the driver of the car drove onto a median to avoid traffic and less than a minute later ditched the car behind a Lauderdale Lakes shopping plaza and four people scattered.

The car was left running.

Chopper4 captured two of the men running into an apartment complex.

The duo got into another car, which Lauderhill police said was reported stolen out of their city, and the men were on the move again.

They weaved through traffic, drove on the wrong side of the road and raced into a Lauderhill neighborhood and made some sharp turns.

A few minutes later, they bailed out again.

Fort Lauderdale police were on their tail and the foot race began.

They wound through backyards and one officer finally tracked down one of the suspected thieves.

The other young man was in for a longer run.

He hopped one fence then two. Then, he lurked near the side of a home where a family comes outside wondering what was going on.

The young man was soon back on the run again.

He hopped fences – three, four, five, six and seven – before finally getting cornered by a police K9.

The suspected thief got down on the ground and crawled forward, preparing to hop fence number eight.

Seconds later he was on the ground again, getting cuffed and led to a police car.

Jusonea Allen said she's lived in the Lauderhill neighborhood for decades and never seen anything like this.

"It's very scary to know that you can't leave your car open," Allen said. "You can't leave your door open."

CBS4 cameras captured one of the young men getting slapped with handcuffs and led away on a stretcher, eventually taken to a nearby hospital.

CBS4 also saw law enforcement searching the neighborhood for clues.

Lauderhill police said they wanted to make sure the men did not ditch any weapons during the chase.

Police said it's fortunate that no one was seriously hurt during this wild scene.

Investigators said they believe the other two people seen running from the first stolen car are not in custody.

If you know who they are, contact Broward Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-TIPS.
