Arrest Made In Crash That Killed 2 Teens & Good Samaritan
MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Almost two weeks after a crash that killed two teens and a Good Samaritan who had stopped to help, the 30-year-old man has been arrested.
Christopher Anthony Masferrer was arrested Friday afternoon and is facing several charges for allegedly driving under the influence, crashing and killing three people on April 13th.
The tragedy unfolded when Anapaula Saldana, 17, and Caroline Agreda, 17, collided with an SUV driven by 68-year-old Josefa Quinones at SW 157th Avenue and 56th Street.
Police said the girls got out of the car and were standing outside when Eduardo "Eddy" Hernandez, a father of three, pulled up and tried to help them. Seconds later, all three were hit by another car.
Masferrer, 30, was behind the wheel.
CBS4 learned that Masferrer served in the U.S. Marines from 2008 to 2013. He was deployed during Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan in 2012.
Masferrer is facing three counts of vehicular homicide, three counts of DUI manslaughter, and driving under the influence.
