Armed Thief Steals $500K In Jewelry From Little Havana Store

LITTLE HAVANA (CBSMiami) – An armed thief made away with half a million in jewelry from a Little Havana store on Thursday.

According to Miami police, Julio Lima was closing his jewelry store Las Americas, located at 1817 SW 8th Street.

Surveillance cameras outside the store captured the armed thief enter.

Police said the robber made his way to the back of store and held up Lima at gunpoint.

The suspect demanded Lima fill a large bin with jewelry and other items.

The gunman then handcuffed Lima before exiting through a rear door.

Investigators said over $500,000 worth of items were taken.

Miami police are looking for a man between 35 and 40, 5-foot 8-inches tall and 180 pounds. He was wearing dark clothes and a tan fishing hat. Police said he is armed with a black pistol and is dangerous.
