Allen's Drug Store To Stop Pharmacy Services

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- One of the oldest and well-known drug stores in South Florida is stopping it's pharmacy services.
Allen's Drug Store is located at 4000 S Red Road in South Miami. Others may recognize the giant red sign saying "DRUGS" on the corned of Bird Road and Red Roads.
The growth of big chain pharmacies like CVS and Walgreens has hurt business.
While their pharmacy services will be no more, the store's diner and medical supply business will remain open.
Starting Sunday, the CVS next door will serve former pharmacy customers of Allen's Drug Store.
CVS said they are interviewing Allen's Drug Store employees for possible positions in the chain.
