Nearly 70 Pounds Of Cocaine Found In Plastic Wrapped Bale Off Upper Keys

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - A person snorkeling near Craig Key made an unusual find on Wednesday afternoon.

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office said a plastic wrapped bale floating in the water near Mile Marker 72 contained 25 bricks of cocaine.

The sheriff's office notified the U.S. Border Patrol which recovered the bale. It weighed approximately 68 pounds.

U.S. Border Patrol valued the drugs at more than $1.5 million.
