2 dead in Fort Lauderdale shooting, 4 injured including child

A child is recovering after Fort Lauderdale drive-by shooting

FORT LAUDERDALE – Six people, including a child, were victims of a drive-by shooting Monday evening just before 8 p.m. in Fort Lauderdale.

Police say when officers arrived in the 700 block of NW 10th Terrace, they found a woman who had died. Five others were taken to Broward Health Medical Center where one man died, the four others were listed as stable with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police have identified the dead a 28-year-old Tiarra Holliday and 45-year-old Sheldon Lawrence. 

Two of the injured, a man and a woman, were released from the hospital on Tuesday morning.

Detectives are trying to determine what led to the shooting. 

"Preliminary information reveals this may have been a drive-by shooting and was an isolated incident," said Officer Casey Liening "We don't have anyone in custody." 

Police believe this was a targeted shooting and there is no threat to the public. They've asked for help.

"We know there were witnesses to this incident," Liening said.
