11 Migrants Detained After Coming Ashore In Pompano Beach

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Nearly a dozen migrants were detained after coming ashore in Pompano Beach.

The Broward Sheriff's Office said just before 11 a.m., deputies and marine units were sent to Hillsboro Inlet Marina after reports of a boat carrying migrants coming ashore in the 2700 block of North Riverside Drive.

A total of 11 migrants, including at least one child, were detained.

The migrants were turned over to U.S. Border Patrol. They have not said where the migrants are from.
