1-year-old child in critical condition after being pulled from pool in Little Haiti
MIAMI -- A 1-year-old boy was hospitalized after being pulled from the pool Friday of a home in Miami's Little Haiti neighborhood, police said.
The 1-year-old child was said to be in extremely critical condition at Jackson Memorial Hospital after paramedics tried to revive him after he was found at the residence located in the 6200 block of N. Miami Avenue shortly before noon.
Investigators were trying to determine what happened in the moments before the child ended up in the pool.
Investigators said an adult was home at the time of the incident but the relationship to the victim was not immediately known.
"Our officers responded here in reference to a child found at a pool," Miami police Capt. Freddy Cruz said. "Our officers attempted CPR on a child."
Investigators have not said if they know how long the toddler had been in the water before he was pulled from the pool
It was also not clear if there were any barriers to restrict access to the pool .
