System brought heavy rains, flooding; Sunny Sunday in the forecast
MIAMI - The storm that moved slowly through South Florida on Friday and Saturday brought heavy rain, flooding and enough wind to knock down a few trees in our area.
At least one tree had fallen over a house in Pompano Beach displacing its residents.
The system was slowly moving away from South Florida on Saturday afternoon as the forecast predicted a hot and sunny Sunday.

Inaccessible roads in the City of Miami
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue hit streets to help residents affected by flooding
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue has deployed its flood response assets in North Miami-Dade, where heavy localized flooding has made some streets inaccessible.
Officials said MDFR crews were assisting individuals that have been impacted by the flooding in their homes by relocating them to higher ground.
Individuals in Miami-Dade County can report flooding in their neighborhoods by contacting 3-1-1.

Latest warnings and advisories
MIAMI - The Flash Flood Warning for Miami-Dade expired at 1 p.m., but a Flood Advisory for Miami-Dade and Broward has been extended until 2:45 p.m.
A Flood Advisory is issued when flooding is not expected to be bad enough for a warning to be issued.

Tropical Storm Warnings Expire
MIAMI - Tropical Storm Warnings for Miami-Dade, Broward and Monroe have expired.
A Tropical Storm Warning is issued by the National Hurricane Center when there are sustained winds of 39 to 73 mph or higher.
Tropical Storm Warning is usually accompanied by storm surge, coastal flooding, and / or river flooding.
Rain continues across South Florida on Saturday.
The wet weather is expected to taper off by the late afternoon and evening.

MIAMI - The conditions in Miami Beach were not dissimilar to other areas across South Florida.

Tropical Storm Warning
Miami - With the 11 a.m. Saturday advisory, the Tropical Storm Warning for the Florida Keys has been discontinued.
The Warning continues to be in effect for Broward and Miami-Dade.
The Flood Watch has also been discontinued for Monroe County.

The situation in Brickell
MIAMI - Flooding reported overnight and into Saturday morning in the Brickell area, stalling several vehicles.
Crews were working to remove those vehicles from the roadways.

MIAMI - A Flash Flood Warning is in effect for parts of Broward and Miami-Dade until noon.

A flood advisory for much of South Florida has been extended until 11 a.m.
Drainage concerns in downtown Miami
Downtown Miami is undoubtedly prone to flooding.
For example, 14th at Biscayne Blvd. is expected to have some issues as the rain intensifies throughout the night.
The drainage concerns stem from rising water levels in the river and the bay feeding water back. Then there's the issue of trash clogging the pipes.
Water was roughly a little more than ankle-deep around 4 p.m. Friday.

Miami International as of 10 p.m.

Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International as of 9 p.m.
- 228 flights delayed

Hialeah neighborhood already dealing with major flooding
Doral service cancellations due to storm
In preparation for the incoming storm, the following Doral service cancellations will be in effect for Saturday:
- Doral Trolley Service
- Doral Freebee Service
Weather impacting SAT exams scheduled for Saturday
Miami-Dade County Public Schools has announced there will be no SAT exams administered at district schools on Saturday because of the approaching storm.
The exams are being rescheduled for Saturday, June 18.
CBS News Miami reached out to Broward County Public Schools. The district released this statement:
"In coordination with the College Board, each school testing site had the option to continue with testing at its discretion. The College Board is communicating directly with registered students about any cancellations."
City of Miami activating its emergency operations center
Assistant Fire Chief and Emergency Manager Robert Hevia went on Twitter to discuss the safety measures in place to safeguard the city from the incoming tropical system.
Broward County closing all campgrounds Saturday because of tropical system
Broward is closing all county-run campgrounds on Saturday because of the fast-approaching storm in the Gulf.
Also closed to the public will be all rental halls, shelters, natural areas, marinas and water parks.
The closures extend to Deerfield Island because of the wind and flooding fears.
If you had a reservation booked, you're asked to call the respective park office to reschedule.
Sandbags distributed at several South Florida locations
Due to potential significant flooding from the tropical disturbance coming off the Yucatan Peninsula, several South Florida cities will be distributing sandbags to their residents on Friday.
Here are the locations:
City of Miami -- will be distributing sandbags at the following locations, from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Grapeland Park - 1550 NW 37th Ave and Little Haiti Soccer Park - 315 NE 62 Street.
City of Fort Lauderdale --
will be distributing free sandbags at Mills Pond Park, 2201 NW 9th Ave, from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Pembroke Pines -- will have a sandbag site open Friday, from 7 am to 4 pm at the Howard C. Forman Health Park, located at 1001 Poinciana Drive, and at the William B. Armstrong Dream Park, located at 1700 NW 160 Ave. for Pembroke Pines residents only to obtain free sandbags. Residents must show their Pembroke Pines driver's license or utility bill with their Pembroke Pines address. Residents can pick up a maximum of 6 sandbags per vehicle and must be prepared to "do-it-yourself" in filling the bags. The use of shovels will be provided. The site is open weather permitting, and while supplies last.
Pompano Beach -- From 8:00 am - 12:00 pm, at 1660 NE 10th Street (Across the street from Pompano Beach Airpark). The sandbags are free for Pompano Beach residents with a maximum of ten bags per household. Proof of residency will be required.
Sunny Isles Beach -- From 9 AM - noon. Sandbags will be distributed under the William Lehman Causeway, 19160 Collins Avenue. Residents must present a valid, City-issued Sunny Isles Beach Resident ID Card. Limit 6 sandbags per household.
Lauderhill -- A limited supply of bags and sand are available for free and will be given out on a first-come, first-serve basis. This is a self-serve sandbag station. Proof of Lauderhill residency is required. Veterans Park is located at 7600 NW 50 Street, and Wolk Park is located at 1080 NW 42 Way. Sandbags will be from 8:00 am until 4:00 pm or until supplies last. Sand and bags will not be available on Saturday.

Knee-high water floods streets of Havana
A tropical system collapsed the streets and avenues of Havana early on Friday, as heavy rains hit areas in western and central Cuba.
Locals were seen standing in streets with water covering their legs while pushing jammed cars and buses.
Impending storm could affect Metrobus, Metrorail, Metromover & STS service
If you use public transportation in Miami-Dade County, here is what you need to know ahead of the impending storm heading our way.
Miami-Dade officials said Friday that Miami-Dade Transit facilities & services, including Metrobus, Metrorail, Metromover & STS, will stop operations no less than 3 hours before the estimated arrival of sustained tropical-storm-force winds of 39MPH.

All of South Florida under Tropical Storm Warning until further notice
A Tropical Storm Warning and Flood Watch are in effect for all of South Florida due to the disturbance we are tracking NE of the Yucatan Peninsula.
The flood watch is in effect through Sunday morning due to the potential for 4 to 8 inches of rain with isolated higher rainfall totals possible through Monday morning.
It has not been designated as a Tropical Depression or Tropical Storm yet because it does not yet have a closed well-defined low level center of circulation. But Hurricane Hunters found it does have tropical storm force winds.
The latest advisory is forecasting a little faster forward motion across the Florida peninsula late tonight and Saturday.

Weather conditions force Zoo Miami to close Friday & Saturday
Zoo Miami officials said the zoo would be closed Friday and Saturday.
The facility will remain closed "so that the staff can properly prepare the facility for the impending weather."
No word on whether the zoo would reopen on Sunday.
