Woman Wanted For Fraud In Los Angeles Captured During Louisiana Traffic Stop

NATCHITOCHES, La. (AP) — A Louisiana woman wanted in Los Angeles since 2008 is jailed following her capture Saturday night during a traffic stop Clarence, Louisiana.

A Clarence police officer stopped a 2007 Land Rover on Louisiana Highway 6 East around 8:17 p.m. Saturday and the driver, 52-year-old Linda Fay Washington, was found to be wanted by the Los Angeles Police Department on two counts of felony fraud when her name was run through a database check.

After the warrants were confirmed, Washington was arrested and was booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center as a California fugitive.

The Natchitoches Parish Sheriff's Office said in a news release that Washington is awaiting extradition to Los Angeles, according to the release.
