Caught On Video: Woman Stabbed In Huntington Beach, 2 Men Arrested
HUNTINGTON BEACH (CBSLA) – With the help of witnesses, investigators were able to track down two men suspected of stabbing a woman in downtown Huntington Beach Tuesday night.
Dominic Piraino, 19, of Covina and Brandon Lebrun, 23, of Glendora were both booked on assault with a deadly weapon. Piraino also faces a count of attempted murder.
According to Huntington Beach police, at about 10:30 p.m., two men stabbed a woman after an altercation and fled in a vehicle.
Officers responded to find the victim with a knife sticking out of her abdomen. She was rushed to a hospital with a non-life-threatening wound, police said.
With the help of witnesses, officers were able to identify the license plate of the suspect vehicle and track it down. Piraino and Lebrun, who matched the description of the suspects, were arrested.
A motive for the attack and the relationship of the suspects to the victim was not confirmed.
CBS2's Michele Gile spoke to a store owner whose security video captured the entire incident.
It begins with a woman yelling at two men in a car. At one point, she goes over and kicks the vehicle. A man in the passenger seat grabs her and then appears to plunge a giant knife into her abdomen. He appears to be reaching to pull it out, but the woman turns away from him.
The woman is then shown walking calmly by several passersby.
The owner of Coach's Mediterranean Grill & Bar says security video prior to the stabbing shows the woman and the men in the car exchanging words. The car pulls away but quickly returns.
Officials identified Lebrun as the driver. They identified Piraino as the man who stabbed the woman.
Another video of the incident also appears on social media.
"I've been on social media," says Francesco Zaza, Coach's owner, "...and I was shocked for what's happening."
