Woman Found Dead In Pasadena Park Under Suspicious Circumstances
PASADENA (CBSLA) – Authorities are investigating the suspicious death of a woman whose body was found Tuesday morning in a popular Pasadena park.
The woman, believed to be between the ages of 35 and 45, was discovered by a jogger in Hahamongna Watershed Park at about 7:50 a.m., Pasadena police said. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
"Right now we're in the early stages of our investigation, and so our first thing is to try to find out who the victim is and where the victim lives and that's probably where we're going to be headed," Lt. Carolyn Gordon said.
The woman had injuries which indicated that the death was likely not an accident or a suicide, police said.
"I believe she has injuries that are consistent with an assault," Gordon said.
The L.A. County coroner's office also responded. There was no word on an exact cause of death or whether investigators had identified a suspect.
"There was some people out this morning, but we are looking for witnesses," Gordon said. "We don't have any witnesses to this currently."
Anyone with information about the possible identity of the woman or her death was asked to call the Pasadena Police Department.
