Woman, 31, Killed While Walking On Busy Highway In Downey
DOWNEY (CBSLA.com) — A 31-year-old woman was killed when she stepped into traffic lanes on a busy highway and struck by a sedan north of Downey.
The CHP said the woman, a resident of Los Angeles, was walking north in the center median of Rosemead Boulevard near Gallatin Road when she stepped into the number one lane about 11:05 p.m. Friday.
The victim was hit by a 1997 Acura driven by a 46-year-old resident of San Gabriel. He was not cited or arrested.
It was unclear why the woman was walking on the highway.
She woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
