INGLEWOOD (CBSLA.com)  —  Witnesses say a black woman and a baby were pushed into a car trunk Saturday afternoon  in Inglewood during a possible kidnapping.

KCAL9's Rebecca Ferriter reported from Inglewood.

Saturday evening, Inglewood Police said the alleged kidnapping occurred in the 2800 block of W. Imperial Highway at a shopping center around noon.

Two black males allegedly approached the woman and infant as she walked towards her car.

Witnesses said the men took her keys, and forced the woman and child into the car's trunk, before driving off.

The vehicle was described as a late-model 4-door Mercedes sedan silver in color with tinted windows and chrome rims.

The woman was described as being in her 20s, light-skinned, wearing a blue denim jacket, blue jeans and a multi-colored scarf.

The child was described as an infant with braided hair, wearing a pink shirt and a diaper.

Police told KCAL9's Rebecca Ferriter, the men were believed to have been involved in petty thefts of nearby businesses just prior to the alleged kidnapping.

Officials told her the men were both "persons of interest" in the alleged kidnapping.
