What Luck! 7-Eleven In Cypress Sells 2nd Winning Powerball Ticket

CYPRESS (CBSLA.com) — A Cypress convenience store is among the California winners Thursday of the $564 million Powerball jackpot, especially since it's the second time it has sold a winning ticket in less than four months.

Three tickets were sold in California that matched Wednesday night's winning Powerball numbers of 11-13-25-39-54, missing only the Powerball number 19. Those tickets, worth $1.4 million each, were sold at a liquor store in Alameda County, a market in Mono County and a 7-Eleven in Cypress at 5402 East Lincoln Avenue.

That Cypress 7-Eleven is the same store that sold a Powerball ticket worth $960,000 in November, California Lottery officials said.

For selling these three lucky tickets, each of the retailers will receive a $7,000 bonus and a spot on the California Lottery's list of Lucky Retailers.

Three tickets matched all seven numbers in Wednesday's drawing. Those tickets were sold in North Carolina, Texas and Puerto Rico, and the winners will split what lottery officials say is now the 5th largest jackpot in U.S. history.
