Half A Million Attend WeHo's Colorful Halloween Costume Carnaval
WEST HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — A half a million people, or more, lined a one-mile stretch of West Hollywood Friday for what continues to be the world's most colorful, and often creative, costumes at any Halloween party. Anywhere.
KCAL9's Brittney Hopper was reporting amid the fun and color and said she saw of the most fun and outrageous costumes she's ever seen.
That sentiment was echoed time and time again by many of the revelers who said there was no other, or better, place to be on Halloween night.
West Hollywood's annual Halloween Costume Carnaval forced the closure of several city streets Friday night.
The event, celebrating Medusa, ran from 6 to 11 p.m. on Santa Monica Boulevard between Doheny Drive and La Cienega Boulevard.
Several stages featured themed musical performances and dancers were set up throughout the closure area.
Lisa Vanderpump of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" was crowned as queen of the carnaval at 9:30 p.m. at the San Vicente Stage located at intersection of Santa Monica and San Vicente boulevards.
For the first time, the carnaval will be streamed live online at YouTube.com/WehoTV, and broadcast live on Channel 99 for AT&T U-verse customers and Channel 10 for Time Warner customers.
