Volunteer Football Coach At Franklin High School Suspected Of Sexual Assault
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A volunteer coach at a Los Angeles high school is in custody Friday on suspicion of sexually assaulting current and former students.
Jaime Jimenez, 46, was being held on $450,000 bail following his arrest about 11:30 p.m. Thursday, according to Los Angeles County sheriff's jail records.
The alleged victims are current and former students, Los Angeles police Officer Tony Im said.
Los Angeles Unified School District officials say Jimenez, who has been coaching at Franklin High School since 1998, has been removed from his volunteer position.
The district was cooperating with the Los Angeles Police Department investigation, officials said.
Investigators believe Jimenez may have sexually assaulted former students who are now adults and are urging them to come forward.
Anyone with information about Jimenez or believes they are a victim can contact Northeast Division detectives at (323) 344-5742.
