Ventura Man, 34, Says He Was Robbed Of 2 iPads From Craigslist 'Buyer'
VENTURA (CBSLA.com) — Ventura Police say a 34-year-old man was robbed of two iPads he was trying to sell to an interested "buyer" he met via Craigslist.
Police say the victim -- Willy Chui -- met with the proposed buyer just before 5:30 p.m. in front of his business in the 60 block of W. Main Street.
Chui had reportedly posted on Craigslist that he was looking to sell two iPads. He said the unidentified suspect called and agreed to meet.
The victim says the suspect took the iPads and ran to an awaiting vehicle. Chui said a second male was driving the car.
Chui told police he reached into the car in an effort to retrieve his property when the driver fled dragging him for several feet before he was able to let go. Chui reportedly suffered minor scrapes to his arms and legs during the incident but refused medical treatment.
He described the suspect as a white male, about 35 years of age. The suspect's car was a dark colored sedan.
Police said they checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle or the suspect.
