Vegas Still Betting Big Money On Lakers To Win NBA Championship

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The Lakers may have a roster full of untried talent and an aging superstar with the richest contract in the league coming out of what many consider the team's worst season – but Vegas still loves the purple and gold.

On the eve of the NBA's 2015-16 season tip-off, Lebron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers are understandably a 2-1 at most sportsbooks in Las Vegas.

But surprisingly, approximately 1.4 times more bets have been placed on the Lakers to win the championships than the Cavs, according to ESPN.com.

That's because the Lakers are favored at 300-1 odds to win an NBA title, according to Westgate SuperBook.

Other books have the Lakers listed in the 50-1 to 60-1 range, ESPN.com reports.

By comparison, the Clippers are facing 8-to-1 odds of winning a title ahead of their season opener Wednesday.
