Power Restored Following Underground Vault Explosion In Culver City

CULVER CITY (CBSLA.com) — Power was restored to more than 1,000 Southern California Edison customers Tuesday following an underground vault explosion in Culver City.

According to SoCal Edison, the explosion occurred around 5:44 a.m. near Pearson Street and Jefferson Boulevard.

Authorities said traffic lights were out on Jefferson Boulevard and Overland Avenue.

According to SoCal Edison's webiste, 1,184 customers were affected by the incident.

Power was restored in the area by 6:30 a.m., officials said.

The cause of the explosion remains under investigation.
